Puppy Training Tips That Still Work

By Joseph Stan

It's almost impossible to have a clean and organized house with an untrained puppy running around. If your new friend is running freely destroying everything on sight then it might be time to do something about it. In this article we are going to discuss the top simple ways to start training your new puppy.

Puppies go through a teething process so if you find that your puppy is biting everything that might be the case. You can get him a chew toy or you can help him ease the itch by freezing a washcloth that has been soaked in water. It's also recommended you removed things out of his reach like socks, shoes and other items.

It's important to remember that yelling at your dog never solves anything. Yelling only will make your dog scared of you and it will be far more difficult to train him. Using the same level of volume and tone of voice when giving commands will help your dog understand that you are giving a command. This is especially helpful when you go for walks and you need to have control at all times in order to avoid your dog from getting hurt.

Usually when a dog needs to go outside they'll give you signs by barking at the door or pacing around the door. Be vigilant of these signs because this will help you train them to always go on the same spot. Once he does his business on the spot you want be sure to reward your dog with a treat. Try to create a habit for him of going outside at specific times so he knows when is time to go and when is not.

It is important that you are firm with your dog for effective training. However, this doesn't mean constantly yelling at your dog. Instead, find some balance between being firm and being loving. This will help improve the relationship between you and your dog. The tips you just read should help you train your dog and keep a clean house. Being consistent with your training can help you to raise a well behaved and happy dog.
