Why do dogs eat leaves
Dogs are great eaters and these animals consider mealtime as one of the most important moments in their life. Dogs that are left alone at home all day would eagerly wait for the arrival of the master as once the door opens, the bowl of kibble is not far behind. Dogs in the wild use much of their time hunting for food. Dogs have to hunt to survive and since food is not always available, dogs would eat every bit of the prey when one is found. Dogs are mainly carnivorous but these adaptable animals can eat anything when prey is not available. Dogs in the wild can turn vegetarian and survive on fruits, berries, grass and leaves.
Todays dogs don't have to hunt to eat. Dog owners make sure that pet's doggie bowls are always filled. The habit of dogs to eat non-food items has continuously puzzled owners.
