Getting rid of dog hair

By Jerry Welsh

Dogs are indeed the most popular choice for a pet as survey showed that more than 37% of households keep dogs. Dogs are noted to have an affectionate and loyal nature thus it would not be surprising if people choose dogs to be their pets. Dog ownership though is expected to bring not only happy moment but problems as well.

Dogs and dog shedding will be the worst enemy of a person who would painstakingly keep the home clean. Dogs are lovable creatures but let's face it - these pets can make accidents that will fill the air inside the house with horrible smell. Another concern of dog owners is the dog hair that must be constantly removed from all the surfaces of the house. Except for hairless breeds, all dogs are known to shed. Dog hair can be a real nuisance as it will cover the carpet, the furniture, collect on clothing and even float in your coffee. Dog hair that covers the carpet, sticks to your clothes and floats on your drink would be really annoying but as it is too small getting rid of the dog shedding will not be an easy task.

A pet owner will never take the option of removing the pet from the home thus it would be necessary to find ways to minimize the dog hair that litters the home. As mentioned, all dogs shed and some breed would shed continuously and other would be heavy seasonal shedders. Dog shedding can never be "cured" but to deal with excessive shedding, a pet owner may consider changing the diet of the dog. Dogs that are sensitive to commercial dog food are known to lose hair excessively.

Dogs shedding inside the house can be minimized with regular grooming. Dead hair that will be shed by the dog inside the house will already be removed if the dog is regularly brushed. As the tangles will be removed, the grooming sessions that will be good bonding moments will also improve the appearance of the dog. Bathing the dog and using a moisturizing shampoo will strengthen the hair follicle and reduce shedding.

Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum to remove dog shedding and maintain the cleanliness of the home. A lint roller is an effective tool that will keep dog hair away from your couch, from your clothes and hopefully will prevent dog hair from floating in your coffee.
