The Joys Of Our Companions Exceed The Complication Of Pet Supplies

By Cheri Knowles

The impact of animals on a family are varied, but almost always positive. From the joy they bring our children to the companionship they provide adults, they create a measurable happiness. These social creatures feed our needs, and with simple pet supplies, we can meet theirs.

From seniors to autistic children, sociologists have examined and documented the benefits of animals to human beings. Anyone who has had the pleasure of being in a room with an aquarium can attest to its calming influence. The interaction a cat or dog provides can provide solace even when one is grieving or experiencing anxiety.

The interaction seems to be reciprocal, as pets that are well treated and get attention are clearly happier and healthier animals. They can be fiercely protective and yet still learn to be well rounded in their interactions with others, animals and people alike. Treated with love, their loyalty is the stuff of legends.

For all the joy and happiness they bring, they demand precious little. They require good food and water, some exercise, and what they crave most is attention. While dogs display this yearning more urgently than cats, both need to be engaged.

There is a wide variety of animal companion options. Fish, snakes and birds each have their own requirements though none are excessive. No matter what is chosen, the activity needed to keep it healthy and happy are part of the joy of having them.

As long as families are caring, they will have nothing but joy from their chosen companion. Children are motivated to get out and play, and when everyone else is out, one has a companion. They require very little in return, and common pet supplies are inexpensive and easily available.
