A User's Guide To Buying Special Cat Products And Cat Supplies For Your Cat

By Robert Baker

Cats are great companions and really need very little care. They are affectionate and many love to snuggle in laps. When you open the door after a day of work, you'll hear the sound of feet running to greet you. Here's a list of what to buy for your cat. Cat products and cat supplies are easy to find.

Every cat needs a litter box. Pet stores carry a number of different styles to choose from. A covered box is sometimes the right choice. It will keep your floor from getting covered with litter if a cat is enthusiastic in the box. Don't forget to get litter and a scoop.

A scratching post is a great idea. This is a carpet covered post with a square wooden base. A cat will stand up and rip at the carpeting with her claws. This satisfies her need to sharpen her claws, which is an instinctual urge. Posts are great substitutes for the dining room table legs or other wooden furniture. A toy attached to the top of the post will provide the cat with even more fun. Scratching posts come in all sizes. There are even six foot tall ones that are more properly called trees and have level platforms along their height for cats to sleep on.

Get a separate food bowl for each cat to eliminate competitive eating. A communal water bowl is fine, as is a kibble bowl filled with dry food for snacking between meals. Many people like to feed their cats a mix of dry and canned food for meal times.

Stock up on toys. The hidden lion or tiger comes out when a house cat is playing with a toy. They'll run around and play for hours with the simplest toy. There are little foam soccer ball that are great favorites with many felines. Most toys are very reasonably priced.

Felines make great companions. They need relatively little care and will provide hours of fun and comfort.
